She Grad-i-nated!

Yep, she got a dip-o-ma and everything. It was a proud moment...daddy had the video camera and I had Kodak. We caught every moment. They sang their preschool song which was to the tune of "Take Me Out to the Ballgame", but it was "We Love Asbury Preschool". So cute! Afterwards, we had a delish lunch of Chick-fil-a. Yes, we know how to live. it. up!

Here's a picture of Miranda with her teachers. We were all blessed this year with WONDERFUL teachers and a great class of full of friends at our much-loved preschool.

He was actually really well behaved...but I couldn't resist this picture. Note the "sparked" hair, as our friend, Rylan, would say.

Chore Chart

We are wrapping up preschool and getting ready for a fun and looooooooooong summer. Miranda and I sat down today and made a "Chore Chart" and new chart for her "Technology Time". I found a great online tool at DLTK. I've been using this site for various things since I was a new teacher. All you do is answer the questions, choose the graphics, and 7 steps later, you're printing a nice little chart. You could easily do the same in Excel, but this is a really quick option.

I trimmed the pages and mounted them on card stock. Miranda colored the pictures and then we "laminated" them with clear contact paper. I attached sticky magnets on the back and hung them on the fridge. I'm using a dry erase marker to make stars when she completes her chore or spends a Tech Time (by the way, technology is defined as anything plugged in or using batteries...tv, computer, Leapster, etc.). At the end of the week, a wet paper towel clears the board so it's ready to go again.

What do you think? :)

We Survived Our First Kindergarten Orientation

We're all signed up and ready to go!

Really, there were just a few tears when they wanted to RIP my baby from my arms and MAKE her go down that l-o-n-g hall to that BIG CLASSROOM full of toys and books. She recovered quickly. I got just a tad misty, but I completely contained it. I don't know how we'll do that first real day of kindergarten, but I thank God that Ray will be there with me. He gets home the day before, so he'll be there to help us function.

She's going to do great. The school is AWESOME. I'm really pleased with my first impression. It reminds me a lot of Rogers. Older, with good bones. I'm looking forward to all the many happy memories we'll create there.

Wasn't it just yesterday I brought this tiny, tiny, tiny 5 pound baby home?!?!?!

Tripping Down Memory Lane

Spring is here! We have planted our annual herb garden. Basil, chives, cilantro, dill! Sam was digging the fact that we were playing in the dirt ON PURPOSE!

Here's Miranda 2 years ago, just prior to the arrival of her little brother. Time is passing WAY. TOO. QUICKLY!!!!!!!!!

Just a girl twirlin' in the first days of spring.....

Just a boy pretending the ladder is a train track wearing his daddy's baseball cap.....
You simply can't set these things up, people! I love these little creatures!
