Par-tay!

We had soooooo much fun! We had mostly old friends and Sunday school friends, so it was a cozy little party. I'll tell you more of the story later, but right now we have new games to play!

New Cases of Blogitis

I have been harping on my local friends about reading all the great mommy and craft blogs out here. My excitement is often met with the rolling of eyes, deletion of unread emails, and polite southern nodding of the heads. Well, I've finally hooked a big one (big as in challenge, not actual size). I had told Wendi about one of my new favorite reads, boomama, and how you can actually hear her drawl through her written word and feel her love of Christ without feeling like you've been hit in the head with a bible and it's all rolled up in a super hilarious package. I mentioned that I had added her to the side bar over there ----> , and I received the following three emails from her last night:

(printed with permission, of course)

1st email- 10:06 pm
subject line- My Day is Complete
I logged onto your blog to catch up - love the picture of Sam!! So, I decide to check out your new "friends" blogs and enjoyed reading the ones I opened. However, "BooMamma" might be the funniest person I have ever had the privilege to meet **I WANT to meet her - I WANT to to know her - she MUST be my friend!!**I read this part below and laughed so loud I heard the kids stirring from the noise. That last sentence is so funny!! Thanks for sharing!
"Finally, about fifteen minutes ago, I found a person on duty who could help me, and she didn’t even seem to mind that my left eye was twitching and that my voice was quivering during our conversation. She must have recently completed an advanced hospitality management training course in How To Deal With The Crazies (or: When BooMama Can’t Get To Her Blawg). "

2nd email- 10:20 pm
subject line- MAKE IT STOP!!!!!!!
okay - I'm ticked. I'm tired and have too much to do and I can't stop roaming around my new BFF websites!

3rd email- 10:35 pm
subject line- there was no subject line....she was clearly exhausted at this point!
oh good Lord - I just read "Monica's" entire blog and JUST realized it was YOUR Monica! It was so nice to meet her! Tell her I loved her blog - and she is funny too!But that BooMama.....now she is F-U-N-N-Y!!!!!WHAT IS HAPPENING TO ME????????????????????????????I'm turning OFF my computer now - although I usually just leave it on. I can not be tempted to wonder out here and play all night long. This is irresponsible of me! I need to wash my face and go to sleep! I'm going....I really am......GOOD NIGHT!!

And she says she can't write....hmph!
Yup, she's hooked alright!

Birthday Party Logo

Here's the logo I think I'm using for the t-shirts. What do you think? Cheesy? They will be ironed on to light pink oversized t-shirts and then the girls will sign the back of each with green and purple fabric markers.

Birthday Advice

Miranda at her 4-year-old birthday tea party.

We're coming up on the April Gala that is MIRANDA'S BIRTHDAY PARTY. I just realized this will be her 3rd birthday party documented on this blog! The theme this year is a Faux Slumber Party. We're going to have the girls come over in their PJ's at 4:00pm. The party will rock and then the parents will pick them up four hours later at 8:00pm. No one cries at 2:00am to go home. No one throws up at midnight. No one spills orange soda all over my sleeping bag (nodding to Monica...remember when Yanci dumped the 2 liter of Crush on my bag?....It was never the same.)

We'll have breakfast for dinner, eat some cake (Conne's Strawberry Delight has been requested for the 3rd year in a row), paint some nails, fix some hair, dress up and dance around. The craft/favor will be an over sized t-shirt that each girl will sign the back of. My hope is to try to design some little logo about Faux Slumber Party 2007 and iron it on the back as well. I'll let you know how it goes.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

The Younger Darwins

It's been a while. Hi, I'm Stacy. Welcome to my blog :)
I was talking to my friend Conne last night (Hi, Conne!), and she mentioned she is a regular reader here at the Darwin Details. So now I have 4 of you. Hi Mon, Heather, Mom and Conne! MAYBE if I didn't take month-long breaks, I'd have more bloggy friends. Noted.

Here's a super cute pic of Sam. I was taking pictures of some things I had sewn and he ran up saying "teeeese". Who in the world can resist that?

Miranda went on her first field trip. Thanks to Wendi, I had the chance to drive and be a part of the adventure. Frogs, turtles and newts, oh my!

As you can see, we were teased with a few days of beautiful weather, and now it's a wee bit chilly again. We can't wait till it's truly spring. The Darwins are going to be all about the outside activities this year!

Fun Math

As of today, Ray and have been dating/married for 16 years. We started dating when we were 16---now stay with me---so that's half of our lives AND we've just celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary, so we've offically been married 1/4 of our lives. Wacky!
