These are the Days of our Lives

Hey everybody! Here's a quick update from our end of the block. Sam has mastered walking, jogging, climbing, driving (see his push car above), and just about everything else. I am truly afraid of the next 20 years. He just isn't afraid of anything. The good news is he gets the cast off tomorrow! I can't wait to put that boy in the tub!!!!

See if you can read the note below....it's Miranda's first attempt at writing a note all by herself:
I will translate:
the letters are, "NO CMIN D HIR"
say it fast, "No come in d-here"
an adult my say something like "Don't come into here", but that's not how she says it, so that's not how she wrote it...I LOVE it!

For the record, it was directed at me. She wrote and had me help her post it outside the playroom door. Nice.

Dear Sam,

Dear Sweet Boy,

I love you dearly, but you MUST stop this insanity. First it's the weak lungs for a week in the NICU, the RSV followed by the CT scan last month, and NOW it's a broken leg. You haven't even gotten to the truly dangerous years yet. What do we have to look forward to?
Seriously, Sam, pace yourself!

Love,
Momma

Our baby boy broke his leg last Wednesday. We thought the swelling in his foot was from a really bad bug bite. The doctor did too. We treated said bug bite with an antihistamine. He still wouldn't put his weight on his foot on Saturday, so I took him back in Sunday morning. The doctor agreed that the bug bite had healed, so he ordered x-rays first thing Monday morning. Yup, we got a big folder with little bone pictures, and one of them had a little gray line on it. Broken leg. I had been treating a broken leg with an antihistamine for 5 days. Go ahead and vote for me for Mother-of-the-Year.

It's called a "toddler fracture". I guess it's pretty common. He just fell on it wrong or got it stuck in his crib....I'll never know exactly what happened. Poor boy. He'll be in the cool cast for 2 weeks. That's no bath for 2 weeks. Ewwwwww!

In case you're wondering, this is how he's getting around tonight. He crawls and pulllllllls the cast. It seems to be working fine! Posted by Picasa

Toile is Terrific :)

Here's Sam's (MY) new bag for church. His monogram is SDJ, so SDM isn't that far off. Hopefully, I'll be using for years after he's out of diapers, so it was a calculated decision.

Swimming Lessons are FUN!!!!!

Miranda is exceeding our expectations at swimming lessons. The first day the teachers assessed the levels and Miranda was placed in the "advanced" half. This is the same kid that wouldn't get off the first step last summer. She's putting her head in the water, kicking and trying to go places....she kind sinks like a rock right now, but she's having fun and getting better every day.

She now jumps in without holding hands with her teacher.....she would want you to know that :) Posted by Picasa

The USA Baseball Family

We went to our annual USA Baseball game of the year. It was fun, and hopefully, we'll make it to more next year. The kids had a great time....Miranda ran the bases, no one was afraid of Wool E. Bull, and Sam did the best he could with the late night. I love this picture o fMiranda. The flag is across the ballpark hanging on a building in the outfield.

Sam's shirt was a little small, but he had to look the part, right?

Bubbles + Flags = FUN!

Miranda is over her fear of the Bull! Posted by Picasa

BEFORE: 2 pillow cases for $3..... Posted by Picasa

AFTER: A cute sun suit for a total of $5! Posted by Picasa

I probably should have shortened the "capris" a little more, but we re-did them 3 times and we had both had enough! Posted by Picasa
